Lakeland 2023 ATH Twan Wilson commits to Jackson State

LAKELAND, Fla. – A top four for Twan Wilson of Pitt, Arkansas State, Jackson State, and Middle Tennessee State went the Tigers way Saturday night. The standout safety is part of a loaded Lakeland Dreadnaughts (Fla.) team taking his skills to get developed under Deion Sanders, but with a twist, getting time in as a receiver.

IN HIS WORDS

Wilson explains how he narrowed his choices to JSU:

“The love from the coaches and the community and winning.”

Why Jackson State:

“It was the connection and the everyday calls. When I needed something, they were there.”

Offensive coordinator Brett Bartolone worked as Wilson’s lead recruiter; that relationship was detailed:

“He’d hit my parents up every now and then to see what I was doing, making sure I was still working hard.”

Wilson made the trip to Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium to see Jackson State take on Florida A&M:

“The crowd helped the team with their energy. Their defense looked good (59-3). I will be in Jackson next on Oct. 22 (vs. Campbell) for homecoming.”
